Hyundai Sonata design

Fluidic Sculpture Design

The breathtaking exterior design of the 2012 Sonata is the result of a design philosophy called Fluidic Sculpture. Fluidic Sculpture considers the interplay of natural, fluid elements with the more rigid surface and structures of a vehicle to create the impression of constant, graceful motion.

The most visible result of this is the signature chrome accent – extending from the headlamps along the hood edge back to the side window line. The overall visual impression is that of a long, low, light sedan that blends sportiness with elegance in equal measures.

All around, the Sonata’s bumper fascias and bumper and body side mouldings accentuate Sonata’s fluid design. The chrome front grille accentuates the Sonata’s groundbreaking design and highlights its polished styling, while all models enjoy solar control glass windows with a windshield sunshade band to decrease sun glare on bright days.

Enjoying the blue, sunlit skies or stargazing at night is easy with Sonata’s available power tilt/slide sunroof. It comes with an interior sliding sunshade and UV blocking to protect both you and your interior, and is standard on the GLS and Limited models. New for 2012 is a panoramic sunroof which includes a pop-up and slide section at front and fixed glass section at back (available on Limited models).

The result is a refined, mature, sophisticated sedan with a generous helping of thoughtful details. And these details are how the world differentiates the extraordinary from the ordinary.
